Following the news earlier today that Vince McMahon has returned to the WWE office and is already suggesting changes to multiple departments, there's now an update on the disgraced 77-year-old potentially returning to WWE programming.

Speaking on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio (as per WrestlingNews.co), Dave Meltzer noted how the feeling in WWE is that McMahon may return to TV in the near future.

As Meltzer explained:

"Vince is at the office. He hasn't been on TV yet, but I say probably yet. Is he going to go on TV? There are certainly rumours running around that he will. I've asked people, and they wouldn't be surprised, but it's not like there's a date. But is he going to be on [TV] a week from Monday? Is he going to be at the Rumble or whatever? Who knows. There's that feeling that Vince is going to want to go out on TV, and he'll get the big reaction when he does. He is in the office, he is talking about things other than the sale, and I think there'll probably be more and more Vince fingerprints as time goes on. As far as creative goes, it just depends on... who knows? If Vince wants it, he'll work to get it. He may do it slowly. Who knows."

As alluded to by the Observer founder there, Vince McMahon famously made several TV appearances in the immediate aftermath of the company running an investigation regarding McMahon's alleged involvement in settlements paid out to female former employees of the market leader.

That situation saw McMahon forced to resign and retire from his position with WWE last July, though he returned to the company as Executive Chairman earlier this month in order to pursue a sale of the organisation and negotiate new TV rights deals. Since then, Stephanie McMahon has herself resigned from WWE, Vince has been unanimously elected as Chairman of the Board, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque has held a 'calm down' meeting to quell talents fear of McMahon potentially getting involved in WWE creative, and there are several emerging suitors showing interest in purchasing WWE.

Of course, in amongst this ever-developing situation were incorrect reports last week that a deal had already been agreed for WWE to be sold to the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund.
