Vince McMahon To Guest Referee WWE World Title Match
Roman Reigns will put his title on the line next week in San Antonio.
Vince McMahon announced during the final segment of WWE Monday Night RAW that Roman Reigns would be defending his World Heavyweight Title on next week's Raw against Sheamus... with the WWE owner appointing himself as the special referee for the bout. The title match next week in San Antonio comes three weeks after Reigns won the belt from Sheamus on the December 15th episode of RAW. That show, which also featured the return of McMahon to television, drew one of the highest television ratings that RAW has received in many months. WWE is obviously hoping that lightning strikes twice for the re-match next week, though if a quick glance is at social media is any indication, fans are less than enthusiastic about watching Reigns face off against Sheamus once again for the company's top prize. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_shq_Qvf1AQ During Monday's RAW, Reigns continued his feud with McMahon in what was Vince's first appearance on television since Reigns Superman Punched him two weeks ago during his championship match. Reigns and McMahon opened the broadcast Monday night, a segment which saw Vince McMahon sent to jail following putting his hands on a Brooklyn police officer. The broadcast-long story of Vince's arraignment at the Brooklyn police department ended with Vince posting bail and returning to the Barclays Center to announce next week's title match. RAW ended with Vince wishing the crowd and Reigns a "Happy New Year" (10 times...seriously, I went back and counted).
