7. John Cena vs. Randy Orton
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWNGdETJbQI John Cena versus Randy Orton again? Whist this is hardly a rivalry that excites wrestling fans in the modern day, there are two ways that this belongs in the main event of WrestleMania more than Orton-Batista. First would be if the unification of the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship had been saved for the biggest show as it should have been. Fans still would have lacked interest in the competitors facing each other, especially if the storyline had matched the recycled one presented in January, but the importance of the two championships being unified would have made this a worthy main event. They could have also played up the same question about which man The Authority were sided with as they did in December, with echoes of WrestleMania X-Seven's ending making the Cena turn seem more possible. The other way this match could have come around would have been if the Cena turn had actually happened back at TLC, with The Authority choosing Cena as their 'Face of the WWE' (to align with reality) and aiding him in winning the unified championships. Orton could have sought retribution after becoming a face again, winning the Royal Rumble to get his hands on Cena and company and right the wrongdoing. This would have given the claims from Cena about Orton falling short of his potential more legs, as the three months between being screwed out of the unification match and getting another shot at WrestleMania could have played up that aspect so the match feels like Orton validating himself.
