10. Vs. Dolph Ziggler (No Way Out; June 17, 2012)
WWE.comDolph Ziggler is another competitor that Sheamus has had what feels like a million matches with. That isn't a complaint, however, as every match these two have ever contested has been a classic. That said, it's crazy to think that of the many matches these two have had against each other in recent years, only one of them has come on pay-per-view, that show being No Way Out 2012. Going into the event, Sheamus was originally scheduled to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Alberto Del Rio. Due to an injury suffered on the June 8 SmackDown, Del Rio was removed from the bout and replaced with Ziggler who had won a No. 1 Contender's Fatal 4-Way on the June 11 Raw. Ziggler was by no means a threat to Sheamus' title reign, especially given the fact he had lost to Kofi Kingston and R-Truth in tag team action the prior month at Over the Limit, but fans surely knew that they were in for an awesome match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Cl4qEBoLFI Many argue that a World Championship match should never kick off a PPV and rightfully so, but Sheamus and Ziggler flourished in that position at No Way Out. They produced a great enough match that it was hard for any other bout on the show to follow it. As previously mentioned, no one figured Ziggler would come out on top with the title in tow and while he didn't, he still proved something to the upper echelons of WWE that night. Like with Damien Sandow in June 2013, Ziggler went on to win the SmackDown Money in the Bank Ladder match the following month. Am I sensing a pattern here?
