8. Vs. Triple H (WrestleMania 26; March 28, 2010)
WWE.comMany of the aforementioned matches pitted Sheamus against an up-and-comer. This match, however, saw Sheamus in the role of the rookie. Granted, he already had a reign as WWE champion under his belt by this point, but it was a forgettable one and might have done more damage to his character than good. His feud with Triple H going into WrestleMania 26 gave him an opportunity to prove himself to the masses as a top-tier talent against one of WWE's most respected competitors. Sheamus' beef with HHH was that he cost him his WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber when The Game played a part in Sheamus' elimination from the contest. The Celtic Warrior ambushed Triple H eight days removed from the event, triggering a rivalry between the two going into 'Mania 26. It was already well established by this point that HHH along with Vince McMahon were high on Sheamus' abilities and believed he had the top potential to be a main event player in WWE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1w9Bdt41Zw The former ECW star's debut on The Grandest Stage of Them All was a memorable one. He gave Triple H one heck of a fight in attempt to earn his respect and more importantly make a name for himself. Only an elite few can say they've wrestled HHH at WrestleMania, and Sheamus can say he is among them. While he was on the losing end of this particular bout, his reign of terror was far from over. He'd bounce back the following month by demolishing The Game at Extreme Rules, taking him out of commission for nearly 10 months.
