SmackDown, for all its promise, has been in the doldrums for a while now. In recent years, it's been depressingly obvious how little WWE value their secondary brand compared to Monday night's extravaganza.
Currently, fans can easily skip SmackDown without fear of missing storyline developments or particularly significant matches. This roster split would force the Blue Brand back to a position of prominence once more, particularly if WWE's promise of an entirely separate writing team is true.
Could we see a new SmackDown Six featuring such stars as Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Cesaro?
