WWE Clash In Paris 2025: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

2. CM Punk Eats An Unnecessary Pin

SummerSlam's "ruse of the century" was an all-timer of a moment. Seth Rollins gatecrashed CM Punk's World Heavyweight Title celebrations by revealing that the injury he'd previously suffered at Saturday Night's Main Event was fake news. He tossed the crutches away, cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase, crushed Punk's heart and left with the belt.

That was killer, but what was that about repeating things from the 'Biggest Party Of The Summer'? It’d be so stupid and counterproductive creatively to have Punk take the fall in the World Heavyweight Title Fatal-4-Way come Clash. He’s surely going to avenge what happened at SummerSlam eventually, so Punk should be protected until then.

The guy’s been through enough as a character to merit a chip on his shoulder - WWE don’t need to add another layer of pain by having Seth pin him again just to do that bloody laugh right in his face as Paul Heyman looks on all smug, Bronson Reed dangles more shoes around his neck and Bron Breakker barks like a terrifying neighbourhood dog everybody stays away from.

Either LA Knight or Jey Uso can take the pin this weekend. They're only really involved so WWE can avoid booking a straight up one on one between Rollins and Punk anyway. In other words, one of them can be the fall guy so CM doesn't need to be. There's are loads of other heartbreaking ways to write him out of the finish.

Maybe Heyman could hold onto his knackered legs as Seth stomps Knight/Uso for the win. Just a thought.
