WWE Extreme Rules 2016: 10 Things That Must Happen

Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles in an Extreme Rules showdown for the WWE Title was a match made at the tail-end of Payback. Fans have known for weeks what the main event was going to be on the coming pay-per-view, but there's been a hell of a lot of intrigue during the build up.

Both Reigns and Styles have shown varying levels of respect for the other man, but the core audience seemingly still can't stomach Roman. That's not really a total negative, especially if WWE continue down the path they're currently going. Having Reigns remain champion and be consistently ruthless against Styles at Extreme Rules plays into the idea that he believes he is 'The Guy'.

Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and The Usos will likely interrupt proceedings, but the focus should be on Roman's descent into villainy. That sets the table nicely for the return of Seth Rollins, who could question why Reigns has given up his staunch morals to turn into an arrogant character.

If nothing else, Reigns appearing like a vicious beast also helps the narrative of his match with AJ. It's more likely to be exciting if the pair are beating the heck out of one another.
