Then: The pain and misery of 'Constable' Baron Corbin was almost upon us when the recently-drafted SmackDown > Raw man entered the Greatest Royal Rumble. This was such a sucky time to be a fan and sit through episodes of the flagship, because 'Constable' Corbin had to be one of the most boring authority figures in the show's long history.

It wasn't that Baron didn't have any personality to speak of. He did, and he proved that when he was 'Bum Ass' broke Corbin a few years later. The nondescript, droning and lifeless segments WWE put him in under Stephanie McMahon just didn't help. So, no, nobody was particularly high on Corbs back in 2018.

There was a cheer when Randy Orton sent him tumbling out of contention for this 50-man special.

Now: The next few years of Baron before his 2024 release were wild. He beat Kurt Angle in the legend's dire retirement match at WrestleMania 35, became King Of The Ring, lost his shine with a deceptively brilliant broke character, bored everyone senseless as 'Happy' Corbin, and then inconceivably got over again alongside Bron Breakker on NXT.

When his 12 year stay in the company ended in November 2024, Corbin first worked independent dates under his real name (Thomas Pestock), then announced that he'd be called Bishop Dyer. Jokes surfaced about the fact that someone had willingly picked an old school FCW/NXT name despite being outside the system.

Dyer has been doing his thing in MLW, and he's occasionally outspoken on social media about certain topics.
