WWE Has "Big Plans" For Roman Reigns In Hollywood

Could Roman Reigns' "new path" in WWE involve more regular breaks to shoot movies?

Now armed with a new WWE contract demanding fewer dates of him, particularly when it comes to house shows, Roman Reigns is seemingly being groomed for a bigger role in Hollywood.

WWE president Nick Khan effectively said as much during a recent appearance on The Town. When asked if he thinks Reigns will be the next wrestler to follow in John Cena, Dave Bautista, and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's footsteps by making a splash in the film industry (h/t Wrestling Inc.), Khan said:-

“We think he’s certainly up there. We have big plans to help him cross over, which we think will be great for him and certainly great to do with him.”

What those "big plans" will be remains to be seen, though Reigns remains the centrepiece of WWE programming. That so much of what the company does has been built around him for the best part of two years meant the alarm bells were particularly loud when Roman claimed to be entering a "new phase" in a house show promo over the weekend. Fortunately, this appeared to reference his reduced schedule, not stepping away from WWE entirely.

To date, Reigns's biggest movie role came alongside his cousin, The Rock, in 2019's Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
