6. The Event Fails To Deliver

A shock of a different kind, it would be truly stunning if this PPV fails to live up to expectations. There is just too much quality on the card, from the always exhilarating Rumble itself to a rare match from Brock Lesnar. You can throw in the Orton vs Cena title match and Wyatt battling Bryan to round off one of the most anticipated cards in months. It can't go wrong ... can it? This being WWE, especially with the recent run of underwhelming events, the PPV could end up a washout. It would be a shock, but then it happens. The company doesn't always nail it. A unpopular winner or screwy finish could seriously harm the satisfaction the show leaves. Orton vs Cena could end up struggling for engagement as some of their other bouts have. Likewise Lesnar vs Big Show could be hit or miss - particularly with Lesnar's ring rust and Show's general limitations. High expectations often result in disappointments, with low expectations more often serving as the basis for a great event. We expect a lot from the Rumble, but the deliverance of this isn't assured. I would be shocked if this doesn't end up a great event, but the more weary WWE fans will no doubt be waiting to say "told you so".
