WWE Super ShowDown 2019: 6 Most Likely Outcomes
2. The 50-Man Battle Royal Will Be The Dud Of The Night
The problem with most Battle Royals in today's WWE is that they almost always highlight how depleted the main roster is.
As we have seen many times in the past few years, at least half of the participants end up being jobbers or buried mid-carders that nobody cares about and, as a result, the powers-that-be must call on NXT superstars to do some heavy-lifting (or high-flying) - mainly due to the fact that the big-time players are featured elsewhere on the card. This ultimately destroys fans' overall enjoyment of the match as it once again highlights WWE's inability to turn the majority of its roster into stars.
The fact that there aren't quite as many matches on the Super ShowDown card could work in its favour when it comes to the Battle Royal, as it frees up more established stars to appear but, given that the WWE creative team tends to squander any opportunity it gets, we shouldn't expect anything different here.
All that aside, the real issue here is that this isn't a Royal Rumble match - it's just a 50-man Battle Royal, meaning that all 50 men will be in the one ring at the same time. Given that it's hard to see what's happening in even the most standard of Battle Royals, you can imagine how painful it's going to be just watching a mass of jobbers struggle through the motions with hardly any room to move. Sounds fun, right?
Don't expect there anything royal from this bloated battle.
