Its time. Youve waited months for it, been saving up your money, maybe taken up a second job to pay for it: its Bound For Glory, TNAs version of WrestleMania! After all this time, all the anticipation and incredible promos and in-ring segments, were about to finally witness The Great Muta and Tajiri get their hands on James Storm and The Great Sanada in the main event! Dont even get me started on how pumped I am for Andy Wu and El Hijo De Pantera to take on Novus! Wait a second whats a Novus? Okay, so maybe there will be some good matches on the show, but how can you have a pay-per-view when eight of the wrestlers on the card have never even appeared on Impact! Why couldnt have done what has consistently worked in the history of wrestling and built towards a single feud like Samoa Joe vs. Lashley to culminate at their big event? How is it conceivable that their world champion isn't even booked? How has this company survived this long? Last years main event had A.J. Styles (no longer in the company) vs. Bully Ray (facing Abyss and Tommy Dreamer in a match with no storyline support). In 2012, Austin Aries and Jeff Hardy closed out the night. Neither of them are even on this year's show. Dont go back to 2011s Bound for Glory unless you want to feel depressed. Ah what the hell, let's do it anyway, 20 people who appeared on the card are no longer in TNA! At this pace, next year TNA will probably be airing Bound for Glory from my garage with Heidenreich taking on some random guy off the street in the main event.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
