WWE WrestleMania 42: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

9. The ‘Demon’ Takes Another Loss

Finn Bálor’s ‘Demon’ hasn’t been seen since losing a Hell In A Cell match to Edge back at WrestleMania 39. A full 3 years on, what if he's about to taste another loss to Dominik Mysterio? Where would the character go from there? It’s already on thin ice due to that Edge defeat and the situation with Roman Reigns back at Extreme Rules 2021.

Yet more misery could kill the persona off completely.

Bálor himself has been rolling his eyes at WWE suddenly bringing the character out of cold storage so suddenly, and it hasn't been sitting well with some that the company missed out on the surprise element here. Surely it would've been more thrilling (and gleaned some amazing facials from 'Dirty Dom') had this particular 'Demon' been one of 'Mania's biggest shock moments?

That's gone now, because the 'Demon' has been announced in advance. There's no going back - WWE chiefs can't exactly say they were only kidding, then act like they're doing everyone a favour by double bluffing on demonic goodness come Sunday night. That'd just be stupid.

Speaking of stupid, it'd be ridiculous if Finn's alter ego took another bashing for no good rhyme or reason. Creative painted themselves into a corner with this 'Demon' announcement and Judgment Day splintering, so now they've got no choice but to see it through and have Bálor's face painted menace run completely over the top of Mysterio.

How could Finn even show face on Monday's Raw after 'Mania if he lost, y'know?
