WWE WrestleMania 42: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

8. WWE Gets Cold Feet On Oba Femi

No, this surely won’t happen, but what if someone pops a hand up backstage and wonders if it’s too much too soon for Oba Femi. So, Triple H looks around, sighs, strokes his chin and finally decrees that Brock Lesnar has to go over so he’s strong for Gunther in the summer. What a disaster that'd be!

Everyone knows that WWE should just strap a rocket to Femi. He’s 27 years old, has all the tools, is connecting with the fanbase and should be the priority here. Brock can withstand defeat and move on perfectly fine. This is Brock freakin' Lesnar we're talking about. One defeat to someone as credible as Oba isn't going to wreck his entire mystique.

Hunter earned some scorn for putting himself between these powerhouses on a recent edition of Raw, but such scorn will turn to praise if he puts all of his chips behind Femi and says: 'He's the one. He's the future we're building towards'. Lesnar is clearly useful from a box office standpoint, but he's yesterday's man in terms of getting pushed ahead of everyone else.

If it's true that Brock plans to wind down his wrestling career over the next 12-18 months, then it's crucial that he puts some future stars over in a big, big way on his way out the exit door. WrestleMania 42's clash with Oba will tell everyone how serious the company is about putting building blocks in place.

Oba can't lose. He simply can't. This is too important, and a win over Brock would do wonders for him.
