WWE's 10 Most Iconic Babyface Turns

3. Randy Savage Reunites With Elizabeth At WrestleMania 7

The "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who was known as the Macho King, lost a classic battle against The Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania 7. It was a clean win for Warrior, who kicked out of five Savage top rope elbows and won rather easily after making his comeback. The pre-match stipulation stated that the loser of the match had to retire after it was over. That meant Savage was done. Post match, Savage's manager "Queen" Sherri went into the ring and was furious that he lost. He was still in a lot of pain after the loss, so she capitalized on that by punching him repeatedly. All of a sudden, Elizabeth ran from out of the crowd. When Savage turned heel prior to WrestleMania 5, he ended his on screen relationship with her because he was a jerk, so it was a shock to see her rush to the ring. That's when the magic happened. Elizabeth tossed Sherri out of the ring. It took Savage a few moments to realize what was happening, but then he saw Elizabeth was in the ring with him. They had a long staredown in the ring, then Savage gave her a big hug and the entire arena stood up to cheer. There were fans in the crowd that were crying while Elizabeth was also in tears. The image of Savage putting Elizabeth on his shoulder was iconic. Savage went from one of the most hated guys in the business to one of the most beloved figures all because he was back with the woman that everybody knew that he loved. It's a simple story, but it worked. As a kid, this was probably my favorite moment in wrestling. Savage was my favorite wrestler. Even though he lost to Warrior and that meant he had to retire (at least that's what we thought), seeing him getting cheered after more than two years of being booed was such an amazing thing to see.
