10 Best Comic Books Of 2017 (So Far)

2. Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman DC Rebirth
DC Comics

Wonder Woman had something of a dismal turn pre-Rebirth after Brian Azzarello departed his critically acclaimed run on the series. Writer-artist duo Meredith and David Finch had a tough act to follow, and while they sadly couldn't quite match the heights of the Azzarello/Chiang series, DC veteran Greg Rucka most certainly has.

With a non-linear narrative and a gorgeous artistic direction, Rebirth's Wonder Woman series - much like DC's other flagship titles - has left the character in a great way, which is appropriate, given how successful Diana's big screen release was this year.

The title sees the Princess of Themyscira embark on a journey to uncover her true history, with the action jumping across both the past and present. Given the theme of Rebirth, as well as the medium's predilection to all things reboot, the story lends the book a certain kind of relevance that other titles in the past have found somewhat elusive.

Rucka is always consistent, and having him back on Wonder Woman is good for everyone concerned, really.
