10 Comics Panels Where You Really Didn't Want To Turn The Next Page

9. Electra Meets Her Fate In Daredevil #181

The Amazing Spider Man 121 Death Of Gwen Stacey
Marvel Comics

When Frank Miller created Elektra in the pages of Daredevil, he made a character the fans immediately loved. Little did the fans know, but Miller had a plan for Elektra all along, and it wasn't one that ended with her and Matt Murdock sipping lemonade on a porch swing in Queens.

Sadly, Elektra wasn't long for this world, and in Daredevil #181, she met her end at the tip of her own sai. Bullseye managed to grab it and thrust it straight through her belly and out the other end. It was a mortal blow, but she didn't die right away.

Of course, readers didn't know that going in, and if the cover was any indication, Bullseye was going to get killed, as it described the story with the words "Bullseye vs. Elektra. One wins. One dies," and the "good guys" rarely met their end in the pages of Marvel Comics... right?

Nope! On the book's 25th page, she gets stabbed, and the following page shows her crawling to Matt's doorstep, where he holds her in his arms as she bleeds out. The final panel on that page leads the reader to think that maybe she would be okay, but once they finally got the courage to flip the page, her fate was revealed, and Elektra Nachios was dead...

You know - until they eventually resurrected her, as death is more of an inconvenience in the comics than anything else.
