Marvel ComicsGreen Goblin's costume gets the top spot for a number of reasons - its colour scheme (that classic deep purple and dark green combination that says "power"), its functionality and the fact that it has a truly and deeply terrifying look about it. As we've already discussed, the purple and green combination is typically villainous and somewhat regal and there's something inherently evil about it (imagine the costume in lilac and white or turquoise and yellow, it just wouldn't have the same effect) and the green mask does make Norman Osborn look like a genuine goblin when he wears it. The costume comes with the infamous Goblin Glider, allowing for flight, fast speed travel and great manoeuvrability, as well as housing those troublesome Pumpkin Bombs that have given his victims - and indeed Spider-Man - so much trouble over the years. But it's definitely the scary look of the costume that wins the day. Green Goblin's appearance, as a result of what he wears in to battle, makes him a truly fearsome foe.
