10 Greatest Marvel Comics Of The 21st Century
5. Old Man Logan (2008)
In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, an aging Logan has a family and has renounced violence in any form. Circumstances force him to go on a crosscountry roadtrip with a blind Hawkeye in this Mad Max-esque landscape.
The creative team of writer Mark Millar and artist Steve McNiven reunited for Old Man Logan after their work on Civil War. The two of them created lasting iconic images in that series, and that same kind of brilliant collaboration is present here as well.
Old Man Logan is one of the all time best Wolverine stories ever told. Millar and McNiven create a ravaged version of the Marvel universe that pulls readers in unlike many of the alternate futures in comics.
The X-Men comics have used the crutch of showing horrible potential futures time and again, but the majority have been forgettable. This version of the future was so popular that Marvel returned to it and brought Old Man Logan into the main Marvel timeline.
