10 Horror Comics You Must Read If You Love The Walking Dead

6. Nailbiter

Readers who enjoyed the more human monsters of the Walking Dead - Negan, the Governor or the Whisperers, for example - should get a kick out of Joshua Williamson and Mike Henderson's Nailbiter.

This similarly creator-owned series chronicles life in the fictional town of Buckaroo, Oregon. This small, unassuming little town has produced sixteen of the world's worst serial killers, known widely as the 'Buckaroo butchers.'

The monstrous Edward Charles Warren lends his serial killer name to the title. Dubbed 'Nailbiter' for his predilection for consuming his victims' (and his own) fingernails, he is at the heart of the comic's story and central mystery. Although presented with a more humorous edge than The Walking Dead ever was, Nailbiter fills its pages with colorful psychopaths and terrifying - yet often charming - monsters.

The series currently runs at six volumes and a sequel series (the equally disturbing Nailbiter Returns), which should keep gore-hungry horror fans going for a while.
