10 Insane Times Superheroes Developed New Powers

5. Rogue

Daredevil God Without Fear
Marvel Comics

Rogue is one of those characters whose superpowers change all the time. Technically, her base power hasn't really changed, but seeing as it enables her to absorb the superpowers of anyone she makes physical contact with, Rogue has carried more than her fair share of borrowed abilities over the years.

Typically, whenever Rogue touches someone, she absorbs their powers (and memories) for a limited period of time. This makes any upgrades she receives only temporary, but if she holds on long enough, she not only absorbs the person's powers, she takes them permanently - with the side-effect of killing the person she was touching.

She does everything she can to not do this, as she isn't the type of person who wants to go around killing everybody she meets, but there was one time she did it and it boosted her powers considerably.

When Carol Danvers (Yes, that Carol Danvers) and Rogue got into a scuffle, Rogue clamped on long enough to steal Danvers' powers as well as her memories. She gained new permanent abilities including super strength and flight, but she also carried around the dormant personality of Ms. Marvel, who has taken control of her body from time to time.
