6. Everyone Forgot The Justice League Existed - Justice Leagues (2001)
The Justice Leagues mini-series begins with a galactic entity called Advance Man paying a visit to the psychic supervillain, Hector Hammond. After he tells Hammond he can magnify his telepathic powers to destroy the Justice League of America, Hammond is more than happy to oblige.
However, Hammond doesn't realise Advance Man wants to use his psychic abilities to erase humanity's memory of the League. After everyone forgets who the Justice League are (including the Leaguers themselves), Advance Man intends for his employer to take over the world.
When Hammond realised what the cosmic being is up to, he sent a message to mankind, "Remember the Justice League of A..." before being stunned by Advance Man.
Hammond's incomplete message compelled vigilantes across the globe to form their own super-teams. Superman created the Justice League of Aliens, Aquaman created the Justice League of Atlantis, Wonder Woman created the Justice League of Amazons, and Batman created the Justice League of Arkham. (Plastic Man created the Justice League of Anarchy but nobody cared.)
With each of the heroes (and a couple of villains) suffering collective amnesia, the JLAs join forces to defeat the Advance Man and reverse the damage he caused.
