10 Least Practical Super Villain Designs
2. The Grizzly
Max Markham was once a famous wrestler called The Grizzly. Jameson, Peter Parker's boss, once watched a wrestling match and decided that The Grizzly's fighting style was too violent. So, Jameson began a series of articles attacking the man's character. It was so effective that Max had his license revoked.
When mildly expressing his dismay at the assassination of character and the burning down of his career by Jameson, the cigar wielding jerk adds insult to injury. He blows smoke into The Grizzly's face and lets him know that the beef was all about selling papers.
No wonder Max decides to go villain and attack The Daily Bugle for what they did to him. The theme of his costume is an exaggerated display of his stage name and appears to be the carcass of a bear. The Amazing Spider-Man issue #140 shows off why this was a poor choice.
No longer a fit young man, the ex-wrestler had an exoskeleton built that helps him fight with Herculean strength. Instead of simply attaching the metal structure onto his body and going with that theme for his costume, the exoskeleton is built into the bear suit and then attached to him. Why? Who knows.
When Spider-Man begins to easily tear away pieces of the bear skin, the wearable mobile machine can no long support The Grizzly. All it takes is ripping off the head of the costume to disconnect all the elaborate pieces of his exoskeleton.
