Long thought to be a human scientist allied to mutants after an affair with Xavier, it was recently revealed that Moira MacTaggert is actually a mutant herself, with a passive but incredibly powerful ability: when she dies, she reincarnates as herself at the point of her conception.

Around thirteen years old, when her mutant abilities begin to manifest, she regains all memory of her previous lives and is able to use that knowledge to change the future and rewrite fate itself.

In a future where she'd joined with Apocalypse in building a mutant army who would rise against the humans, humanity fought back with Sentinels led by the seemingly-unkillable Super-Sentinel Nimrod.

With the last few mutants on a suicide mission to take Nimrod down, Apocalypse sent Wolverine away from the final battle. Finding Moira in a stasis pod, Logan used a device of Apocalypse's design to upload the information on Nimrod's origins into her mind, so that they have a fighting chance of stopping this future from ever coming to pass.

And then, completing a plan she'd spent one of her allotted lifespans on, Wolverine killed her that she could carry that knowledge into the past and protect the mutant race.
