Now, while this particular issue is old, it still doesn't quite explain the thought behind creating a storyline where Captain Marvel gave birth to a man who then rapidly aged, revealed himself to be her "lover" from an alternate dimension - having used a mind control device to convince her to sleep with him - and that his plot had been to be birthed into the main reality through these gross shenanigans.

Quite honestly, the human brain may never be fully capable of understanding exactly what the thoughts were behind this one.

However, this all would have been fine - if gross - were it not for one thing: they didn't make this guy the villain. In fact, they let Marcus whisk Captain Marvel away at the end of the storyline, with the Avengers seemingly not realising that this was wrong on basically every level imaginable.

Had anyone rightfully pointed out that anyone who uses a machine to make someone fall in love with them so that they can use their womb as a first class airline is pretty messed up, this comic would perhaps be slightly less infamous than it is today - even if only slightly.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
