10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Guardians Of The Galaxy

7. Gamora Loves Everyone (Except Star-Lord)

Many were disappointed that the sole female member of the Guardians Of The Galaxy was shoved into the requisite romantic role, owing to Hollywood's unfortunate tendency to try and put a love story into every single film going, regardless of how suitable it is. So far as we can tell Gamora and Star-Lord never consummated any sort of relationship on or off-screen, besides that one flirty bit with the Walkman and Kevin Bacon. Clearly they're hinting at a bit of an on-again, off-again tryst throughout the series, however, which is pretty much the exact opposite of the comics. Because Gamora has hooked up with pretty much everybody except Peter Quill. Gamora's whole history is actually pretty different to what we saw on screen. She was an actual villain for a long time, Nebula isn't her sister, and for the longest time she was the main squeeze of headline cosmic hero Adam Warlock (who may make an appearance in a future Marvel movie, if we're to be believed. Which we are). From there she moved onto Richard Rider, the member of the Nova Corps assigned to protecting Earth, and had a brief fling with Tony Stark during a recent storyline which saw Iron Man teaming up with the Guardians. Gamora is confident and gets what she wants, and what she wants is basically everyone except Star-Lord.
