10 Times The Avengers Ruined Bruce Banner's Life

4. Sending Him Into Space - Incredible Hulk #88-91

Without a prior agreement, sending someone into space is a pretty awful move - and yet it's also the exact move that the Avengers decide to do to their green angry comrade at the start of the Planet Hulk storyline.

On one hand, it does make sense - as the Hulk had previously gone on a rampage in Las Vegas, and thus had proved himself a legitimate threat. But afterwards he does exile himself into the far off wilderness of Alaska, where he has basically no human contact, and thus is so longer a real danger to anyone, aside from the salmon that he catches.

That's not enough for the Avengers though, as they make a plan to have the Hulk sent into space in a fake mission, with the intention to leave him stranded on a desolate planet out in space.

When the Hulk survives this ordeal, he comes back more than a little angry that he'd be lied to and mistreated - leaving the supposed superhero team awkwardly twiddling their thumbs at having to confront how badly they'd handled the entire situation.
