10 Zany Comic Book Movies That Would Send Fans Wild
2. X-Statix

In an unusual move for Marvel, the company enlisted offbeat comic creators Peter Milligan and Mike Allred to revamp one of their beloved mutant teams for a new generation. X-Force were transformed from serious mercenaries into a team of immature mutants formed to be marketed like modern day reality TV stars. The title felt like a release from a smaller publisher due to its extremely satirical take on the superhero genre. Key characters were killed off left, right and center, including almost the entire original team in the first issue.
As if that wasn't crazy enough, check out some of the more unusual members of X-Statix, including Dead Girl, who could control dismembered body parts, El Guapo, who possessed a telepathic bond with his skateboard and team leader Orphan, a suicidal purple mutant who could levitate. None were as weird as Doop though, who acted as the teams cameraman, but was essentially just a green floating blob that spoke his own unrecognizable language.
X-Statix may be one of the strangest teams ever published by a mainstream comic book company, but Marvel are set to soon enjoy huge success with the Guardians of the Galaxy and no one thought Rocket Raccoon would reach the big screen. Who knows? If a X-Statix movie ever made it into cinemas, it could prove to be one of the most insanely awesome superhero adaptations ever made. Make it happen Marvel!
Now let's see who made it to the number one spot...
