5 Reasons Why Emma Frost May Save Mutantkind (And 5 Reasons Why She'll Be Their Death)

7. Save: Emma’s Hellfire Trading Company Is A Major Part Of Krakoa’s Infrastructure

Emma Frost
Marvel Comics

When Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto began to make preparations for their mutant-only nation of Krakoa, they reached out to Emma Frost to use the reorganized Hellfire Club, now the Hellfire Trading Company to distribute their new medicines to their international human customers. The two mutant leaders wanted Frost to oversee the international trade and be an ambassador for the island nation.

Emma was given a seat on the ruling council of Krakoa for her cooperation. A second seat was given to her counterpart in the Hellfire Corporation, Sebastian Shaw, who oversaw the black market distribution of the drugs with the countries that rejected the sovereignty of Krakoa as an independent nation. Emma wisely demanded a third seat on The Quiet Council to be given to a person of her choosing. She made Kate Pryde the Red Queen.

Filling out her court, Emma made her own brother Christian her White Bishop and tapped the deadly Callisto to be her White Knight. Callisto’s primary job is to be an ambassador for some of the more distrustful mutants saved by the Marauders. As the Red Queen, Kate Pryde had to do a great deal of convincing to get Lucas Bishop to accept the post of Red Bishop.
