5. Nicolas Cage - Jiu Jitsu

There's a very very good chance you're going to be talking about Jiu Jitsu as one of the truly great cult classics of our time when it comes out next year. Based on the comic book of the same name, it's a sci-fi/martial arts mash-up about an ancient order of martial art experts who must unite to defeat an alien invasion every six years, starring the likes of Tony Jaa, Frank Grillo, Juju Chan, Rick Joon and Tommy Walker from Daredevil. Add to that impressive cast lots and lots of stunt experience and it looks like a great blend.

And then you look at who is top billed. Not an exciting young martial arts expert. Not someone like Jackie Chan overseeing the order. Not even Ray Park who'd be amazing in the fight stakes. Nope, it's Nicolas Cage.

Now, this automatically turns this film into an ultimate banter release, but judging by the precedent, there's a very, very small chance that this film will give us one of Cage's better movies. Which will mean that no matter how good the idea or the cast, it will become no more than another of those Nic Cage movies.
