10 Copycat Indian Movies That Ripped Off Hollywood

Ripped Off: The Silence Of The Lambs
The Silence Of The Lambs is one of the most iconic movies off all time and that which launched the already illustrious career of Anthony Hopkins into super-stardom. It is also one of only a handful of movies that have the distinction of having both of the leading performers win an Academy Award, so it should come as no surprise that it drew special attention.
Somewhat less amazing was the Bollywood unofficial remake of this classic, Sangharsh starring Preity Zinta and Akshay Kumar. Like the Hollywood version, Sangharsh follows the tale of a young domestic intelligence officer who is put on a case to find a serial killer. She seeks the help of a notorious incarcerated professor for help in catching the killer.
To be fair to Sangharsh, there is quite a lot of difference between it and the movie it copies. The most significant deviation was that in the Bollywood version, the officer falls in love with the inmate who is helping her. But don’t worry, in the Bollywood version, the criminal, played by the handsome Akshay Kumar, is not actual guilty of the crime he has been convicted of, so that makes it better. Probably.
