10 Epic Movie Marathons To Pass The Time Right Now

8. The Fate Of The 2 Fast 2 Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw

What better way to lament the year-long delay of the ninth installment than going back to where it all began, and tracing the Fast and Furious franchise's evolution from a thinly-veiled Point Break remake set in the world of street racing to mega-budget action blockbusters that throw logic, physics and gravity out of the window?

If you're looking to whittle away a couple of days without over-exerting your brain, then there's worse ways to do it than getting reacquainted with Dominic Torretto and his extended family. Watch the series struggle to establish an identity over the course of the first three movies before the original players return in the fourth, with Fast Five officially the moment that they collectively said 'f**k it' and decided to go for broke.

From there, each new entry gets increasingly more preposterous, and yet somehow more enjoyable. The Fast and Furious gang don't give a damn about making sense, they just want you to have a good time, and that's exactly what the constant barrage of action scenes accomplish as they straddle the line between self-awareness and full-blown jumping the shark.

For bonus points, you can even throw in Justin Lin's 2002 crime drama Better Luck Tomorrow, which has been unofficially retconned as fan-favorite character Han's origin story, bringing the Fast and Furious marathon up to an even ten.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
