10 Films That Would Make Great TV Shows
5. Looper
Looper is arguably one of the best science-fiction action films of recent years. It was original, stylish, superbly acted by a talented cast, and very, very violent. It's also a film that would be worthy of a sequel, or better yet, a spin-off television series.
Telling the story of when time travel has been outlawed, gangsters send their enemies back into the past to be offed by "Loopers", essentially rockstars of their era, in order to hide any evidence of the crime. The bad side of this sweet gig is sooner or later they're going to see their future selves sent back in time to be ended in order to tie up any loose ends.
Time travel in Looper is a concept that deserves exploration, giving writers and filmmakers free reign to do what they like and make the rules up as they go along, because, sorry to burst your bubble, time travel hasn't been invented (yet). It could even be interesting for rogue Loopers to go into the future to see what all the fuss is about with these futuristic gangsters who believe it to be essential to give them expiration dates.
As Rian Johnson is close to finishing his visit to a Galaxy Far, Far Away, could there be a chance that he would return to expand the Looper universe?
