Could there be anybody else to top this list? It simply had to be the mad-eyed, time travelling genius that is, Doc Brown played masterfully by Christopher Lloyd.

What I think is wonderful about Lloyd is that apparently he is just like Doc Brown in real life. In his Scrubs podcast, Fake Doctors Real Friends, Zach Braff who directed Lloyd in Going In Style, said that working with Lloyd was incredible because he was had the exact scatty and panicky mannerisms as Doc Brown. Not only that, but he seemed to always have a shocked look on his face true to his character in Back To The Future.

Although Doc Brown certainly carries the bulk of the comedy in the Back To The Future films and it's impossible not to think of Doc Brown without uttering his famous "Great Scott!" line, it's the chemistry between Doc and Marty McFly that makes these films so timeless. The relationship that Lloyd and Michael J Fox created on screen is something that hasn't been emulated in sci-fi comedy movies since and it is THE benchmark that other sci-fi movies will forever be measured against.
