10 Most Viewed Movie Trailers In First 24 Hours Of Release

9. F9 Trailer – 151 Million Views

The 9th instalment of the Fast & Furious series totalled 151 million views for its first trailer in the first 24 hours of release. It introduced the world to John Cena as Jakob Toretto, Dom and Mia's brother who is a skilled thief/master assassin working with Charlize Theron’s Cipher, taking the family element to the films to the next level. Vin Diesel’s Dom claims at one point “Now that I’m a father, I can’t live my life a quarter-mile at a time anymore.” His past ultimately catches up with him however, as a showdown with Cena is shown/previewed.

The trailer was released in January 2020. It confirmed the exciting return of Sung Kang as Han who was believed to have been killed off in Tokyo Drift. His appearance steals the show in the trailer as Han is one of the most beloved early characters of the franchise. The trailer was propelled to success by a ‘The Road to F9’ concert in Miami hosted by Tyrese Gibson (who plays Roman Pearce) with performances from fellow star Ludacris and soundtrack favourite Wiz Khalifa. A 30-second preview was shown at the Superbowl, getting more web traffic afterwards than all the other trailers screened like Black Widow and No Time to Die.

It promised the most ludicrous explosions and stunts yet, with suspension of disbelief never being more tested than any other Fast & Furious film.
