7. Cap Goes For The Head - Avengers: Endgame

One of the most heart-breaking and downright shocking moments in MCU history takes place in the opening stages of the conclusion to the Infinity saga - Avengers: Endgame. After finally pinpointing Thanos' location in the wake of him snapping away half of the life in the universe, Thor decides to abruptly decapitate 'The Mad Titan', explaining that he "went for the head" in response to failing to do so just before the infamous snap went down in Infinity War.

With Steve Rogers and the rest of the surviving Avengers present for this stunning turn of events, it appears the mighty Captain America was actually taking notes from the 'God of Thunder'. When the time came for Cap to reveal just how worthy he was on the battlefield, equipped with Mjolnir and his vibranium shield, he clearly targeted 2014 Thanos' skull for the majority of his titanic, God-powered attacks.

But, even with this precise game-plan in mind, the super soldier was ultimately left reeling, with his shield in tatters as hope looked to be slipping away. Thank goodness someone was on his left, eh?
