9. Keanu
Two of the funniest comedians to breakout in the last ten years, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele have popped up all over the show during the last few years, from sitcoms to feature films to, of course, their own show on Comedy Central - Key and Peele. Finally the pair are headlining their own feature film, and their many fans are understandably excited. Co-written by Jordan Peele and Key and Peele/Community staff writer Alex Rubens, the comedy follows a recently-dumped man (Peele) who takes in a kitten to help him through the break-up. When the kitten is stolen by gangsters, he and his friend (Key) set out to impersonate drug dealers and get him back. Anyone familiar with Key and Peele's show will be have recognised their running commentary on 'adjusting their blackness' dependent on who they're talking to, and this film looks to be that issue writ large. The best comedies tend to be those which actually have something topical to say running under the onslaught of humour, and Keanu looks to be running along those lines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqjiIJbQ9Bs&oref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DMqjiIJbQ9Bs&has_verified=1 Keanu is released on 29 April.
