10 Signs The Batman Could Be A Crushing Disappointment

1. Warner Bros. Has A Spotty Track Record

This isn't about Marvel vs. DC, but whereas Marvel Studios has managed to successfully create a shared comic book world, Warner Bros. has struggled from the star. Much of that boils down to poor decision-making, and while things are starting to look up for the DCEU, the recent commercial failure of Birds of Prey proves that they're still struggling.

That should never have been R-Rated, while some recently leaked Wonder Woman 1984 plot details haven't exactly got fans excited. On the surface, Matt Reeves being trusted to take charge of The Batman seems like a smart move, but is he the right man for the job?

It's obviously too soon to say, but seeing as Warner Bros. once announced an entire slate of Justice League spinoffs despite Zack Snyder having a very finite trilogy in mind, their vision for The Batman may not line up with what fans are hoping for. Aquaman was fun, Shazam! was mostly forgettable, and Birds of Prey was too quirky to connect with moviegoers, so while things have started improving for the DCEU, maybe don't get your hopes up yet!
