6. Spider-Man Hasn't Been Cast...Yet

There's been a lot of questions about who will play the next Spider-Man. Is it going to be Peter Parker? Will they change his race or could Miles Morales take over the franchise? That's still not clear, and just about everyone has their own personal preference about how Marvel and Sony should handle the casting. Regardless, the only two names mentioned by a reliable source are Logan Lerman (Fury) and Dylan O'Brien (The Maze Runner). Yesterday, some sites started running with a story that O'Brien had been cast as Spider-Man following a post by a user on reddit of all places. That's apparently (and unsurprisingly) not the case, and it's mentioned that casting may not have even begun and won't for a number of months while the final elements of the deal are sorted. The site does however mention that they will likely go for a young unknown, so fan casts might be pointless anyway.
