10 Ways Joker's Origin Movie Could Completely Change The DCEU

7. A Proper Crisis Movie

It wouldn't take much for DC to easily differentiate a stand-alone feature from their DCEU properties. The aforementioned 'Marvel Knights' banner intimated as such during its brief existence, but - if they were willing - there is the potential for some multiverse-based shenanigans, particularly with all the teasing that's been going on with Justice League's red skies.

For those not in the know, red skies tend to spell certain doom for all those concerned in the DCU. They dominated the landscape in all the most recent Crises at least, and, with that Flash solo film getting a Flashpoint title (a Crisis-esque storyline in the comics for sure), it could be the case that this Joker film merely confirms fan suspicion that the DCEU is transforming into a fully-fledged cinematic multiverse.

Again, for the uninitiated, the idea of there being a 'multiverse' has been central to the comic book DCU for some time now. There are 52 different universes located within the multiverse, and DC have made a habit of exploring most of them at some point or another, with time travel and dimension-hopping very much having been within the remit of both the Justice League and the Flash himself at various points over the years.

Either way, it's clear that we'll be getting some alternate reality action at some point in the future - a prospect that will no doubt delight Grant Morrison fans everywhere.
