11 Best Recast Movie Roles Of All Time

4. Tom Holland As Peter Parker

Lando Calrissian
Marvel Studios

Spider-Man has a tumultuous cinematic history. Originally debuting in Sam Raimi's instant-classic, 2002's Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire's take on the character helped kick-off the first wave of the superhero craze in the early 2000's. The film got one sequel people couldn't stop gushing about and one that they couldn't stop hating on.

Then, Sony pressed the big ole reboot button and delivered 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield in the title role. Before too long, that version of the franchise had crashed and burned even harder than the previous one.

Thus, Marvel Studios finally got to play with one of their most iconic characters and audiences were treated to Tom Holland's performance as the young web-slinger. Holland is so good in the role that even Stan Lee has said watching him is like watching the pages of the comics come to life. His mixture of humor, naivety, and genuine heart has crafted an unshakable performance.

He was wonderful in Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming, but his performance was lifted to even greater heights in his scene-stealing and unbelievably emotional role in Avengers: Infinity War.
