12 Movies You Wrongly Thought Bombed In 2018

1. Peppermint

Budget: $25 million

Box Office: $51.5 million

This Jennifer Garner-starring Death Wish knock-off came and went without much fanfare at the end of the summer, receiving scathing reviews and having an unmistakable straight-to-VOD whiff about it.

But perhaps due to the lack of movies focused on a**-kicking femme fatales icing gross men, Peppermint opened slightly above projections and went on to double its price tag.

Its success can perhaps be attributed to the strong response from audiences, landing a better-than-expected "B+" CinemaScore, making this decidedly a "not for critics" affair. Impressively, it also landed the #2 spot in its first weekend, opening behind The Nun.

Which of these not-bombs surprised you the most in 2018? Shout it out in the comments!
