If you thought you could make do with suffering through just one more Now You See Me movie when the franchise's trilogy-capper releases in a few years, you're dead wrong.

Now You See Me 2 introduced a Chinese magician, Li (Jay Chou), and not-so-coincidentally, the film made more money in China than any other country, so Lionsgate have decided to press on with a Chou-starring spin-off said to take place in China and feature a mostly Chinese cast.

In fairness, compared to some of the China-pandering we've seen recently (namely Independence Day: Resurgence), NYSM2 did a pretty decent job with it, even if it's hard not to roll your eyes at how aggressively this expansion of a thoroughly mediocre franchise is being pursued.
