Release Date: December 25th 2015 Alongside Tarantinos Hateful Eight, Alejandro Inarritus cast (Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Will Poulter and Domhnall Gleeson) is the best thing to happen to Westerns since Unforgiven. They will bring to life Hugh Glass grim story of surviving being bear lunch to get revenge on the men who left him for dead. It will mostly be billed as What The Best Director Did Next, but with so much character acting potential in that cast and the promise of Inarritus stunning aesthetic vision smothered in Frontier mud, its a lot more than that. Provided Hardy is actually legible, the promise of his climactic showdown with DiCaprios Glass is a thing of beauty. Why Should You Be Thankful? Inarritu directing a heavy-weight beard-off between intense character actors DiCaprio and Hardy is just about as mouth-watering as it comes. Plus DiCaprio might actually win an Oscar after several years of being pipped to the post by stunning performances. But then maybe there is something to the conspiracy theory that the Academy dont actually want him to win, so perhaps not.
