12. Anakin Fights Greedo

Which Episode? The Phantom Menace

Where would it be in film? After the podrace, just before Qui-Gon reveals Anakin's won his freedom.

What happens? Clearly not everyone was jumping for joy that Anakin beat Sebulba in the podrace; the future Vader ends up in a street brawl with a young rodian who claims he cheated (which he technically did unless using the Force is allowed). Qui-Gon comes along to break it up and gives Ani some advice that we know he'll never listen to. This scene is notorious, however, for its final 'reveal'. That rodian? He's named Greedo. Oh we see what you did there, George.

Should it have been cut? It's nice to see, rather than just be told, that Anakin has an angry side, although doing it in a way that needlessly brings another Original Trilogy character into the action makes it a hard one to be sad isn't in the film.
