The Moment: After the terrorists are vanquished and the day is saved, legendary a**-kicker Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) meets with the guy who has been chasing him all day, Inspector Frank Dotzler (Forest Whitaker), who explains that he knew he was innocent from the beginning, and "it was the bagels" discovered by his dead wife Lenore's (Famke Janssen) body. Dotzler continues, "They were warm. I mean, I had to ask myself, what kinda guy goes out for warm bagels and commits murder?" Why It's Stupid: Does this one really need any explanation? Credit to Forest Whitaker for somehow performing this line reading with a straight face, but for a film as self-serious and "high stakes" as Taken to border on self-parody with this outrageous revelation is just one step too far. On one hand it at least suggests the filmmakers aren't completely unaware of how absurd these films are, but at the same time it sticks out like a sore thumb because the rest of the movie is so straight-laced and humourless. Bagels? Really?
