20 Best Movie Blu-Rays Of 2016
8. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D Collector’s Edition
Though the release of Star Wars spinoff Rogue One should
soothe fans’ cravings somewhat, we’ve still got a long year ahead of us until
the release of Episode VIII next December. Luckily, The Force Awakens 3D
Collector’s Edition Blu-ray is here to fill the Star Wars shaped gap in our
lives in the meantime.
What makes the collector’s edition so special? Not only are all the bonus features of the standard Blu-ray issue present – including a feature-length making-of documentary and a segment on composer John Williams’ Academy Award-nominated score – alongside the usual deleted scenes, there’s a galaxy’s worth of shiny, new extras too. A brand new, never seen before audio commentary with director J.J. Abrams is as entertaining as it is informative and further features include conversations with The Force Awakens’ young stars Daisy Ridley and John Boyega and a look at the design of its characters’ weaponry. Plus, the holographic lightsaber slipcover isn’t half bad to look at either.
