One of those rare sequels which is arguably far superior to the original, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior saw Mel Gibson reprising his role as the fast-driving vigilante taking on a posse of weirdly-dressed roaming marauders. With excellent cinematography, transforming the outback into a dangerous post-apocalyptic land of fear, it's the action which elevates the film above more standard fare. The 40 minute running time of the climactic chase sequence might sound like it would run out of steam early - protracted action sequences can often outstay their welcome - but in the hands of George Miller it's both extravagant and intense, aided by some truly stunning stunt driving. News of a much-belated sequel starring Tom Hardy certainly has fans writhing with excitement, and the fact that Miller is helming Max's return should ensure that the thrills come thick and fast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLCmcV4gC_0
