20 Greatest Meta-Horror Movies Of All Time

16. My Name Is Bruce (2007)

Best known for his role as Ash Williams in Sam Raimi's iconic Evil Dead series, Bruce Campbell is essentially a god to genre fans. But that doesn't mean that he's had the most fruitful career. Following in the tradition of such films as Being John Malkovich, Pauly Shore Is Dead, and JCVD; My Name Is Bruce finds the king of B-movies playing himself in a goofy riff on the headaches associated with being one of America's most underappreciated actors. In the film, Campbell is stuck in a rut of alcohol, bad acting gigs and a lack of money. All in all his life isn't going great, until he€™s requested by a small town to take care of their monster problem. At first Bruce thinks this is just a general meet and greet event until he quickly realizes that the situation is quite serious. If you're a fan of The Chinned One, or if you don€™t take any of this too seriously, there is plenty of enjoyment to be had with this film. The story is loaded with inside jokes about Campbell and the Evil Dead movies, and it€™s essentially a fans' dream come true.
